Skies above Port Canaveral will light up with color and sound on the evening of July 5th for the traditional fireworks celebration hosted by The Cove Merchants Association and Port Canaveral. The event is one of the hallmark celebrations of the Space Coast’s traditional Independence Day events.

Public viewing for the fireworks display will be available in The Cove District and on the lawn of Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral. Parking in The Cove parking lot will be available at no charge for restaurant patrons until the lot reaches capacity. Additional designated parking areas at Port Canaveral will be available for the fireworks event at $15 per vehicle, cash and credit cards accepted. Refer to the Parking Overview map below for designated lot locations.

There will be NO public viewing locations on the north side of Port Canaveral including near “A” Cruise Terminals and North Cargo Operations areas or on any portion of State Road 401. Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will be monitoring and enforcing the area.

A comprehensive special event parking and traffic flow plan was developed jointly by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Canaveral Fire Rescue, and Canaveral Port Authority Public Safety and includes road closures in The Cove District and one-way directional exiting from Port roads after the event. The plan is intended to promote safety and efficient vehicle movement during the public’s arrival at the Port before the event and departure after the fireworks display concludes.

Visitors planning to attend the fireworks celebration should review the parking lot locations and traffic flow maps before arriving to the Port and plan accordingly. The parking lot chosen will determine which road a visitor will use to exit. Visitors should select the parking lot that offers the most efficient exit route for their return trip. For example, visitors planning to return to Merritt Island should park in Lot C or D, while those heading to beachside communities should park in Lot A or B. Guests parking in The Cove dining district may exit either way but should expect longer delays.

Electronic and fixed signage will be located on SR 528 and SR A1A, as well as on Port roadways and intersections to direct motorists arriving for the festivities. Electronic signs on Port roads will direct traffic to designated parking lots. Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies, parking attendants, and Port staff will be stationed at key intersections around the Port to assist guests.
