Jen Clay at Locust Projects

Saturday, Sept 23, 11:30am-1:30pm;
on Saturday, October 21
On view through Nov 4, 2023

Locust Projects presents Eyes of the Skin, a new site-specific installation and interactive video game by Miami-based artist Jen Clay, which invites viewers to explore a forest of quilted tree-monsters through both a sensory inclusive, immersive installation and video game animation.

Clay’s video game – the first video game made entirely of animated quilts – is the first chapter in what will become a long visual novel, one inspired by the popular children’s book series Choose Your Own Adventure.

Meet the artist at the free artist talk titled, Soft Sanity, followed by a celebratory reception, Cuddle, on Saturday, Sept 23, 11:30am-1:30pm; on Saturday, October 21, return for The Chase, a performance featuring a Scooby Doo-like monster chase; the artist also invites the public to visit her during her open studio hours at Locust Projects every Wednesday and Thursday 1-4pm from September 22 through November 2. Jen Clay: Eyes of the Skin is made possible in part from a Knight New Work Grant and the exhibition’s realization at Locust Projects is presented as part of Knight Digital Commissions.

The exhibition is on view through Nov 4, 2023, Wednesdays-Saturdays from 11am-5pm at Locust Projects in Little River. Admission is always free.
