Start the new year strong at the fifth annual FitCrest 5K, a timed community run/walk open to all ages and abilities, including strollers and four-legged friends. Hosted by Pinecrest Parks & Recreation, the event includes pre-race warm-ups and race bibs with chip timing. Participants receive a race tee while supplies last.

Curious Gardener Workshop: Urban Art – Paint Your Own Skateboard
Thursday, January 15, 2026 — Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road
Inspired by the Sneaker Stories exhibit taking place at Pinecrest Gardens in partnership with the Museum of Graffiti, participants will learn urban art techniques and design their own skateboard deck to take home. Hosted by Crafts & Drafts Miami, this hands-on workshop includes materials, instruction, an adult beverage, and gallery access (21+).

Pinecrest Gardens Art + Design Fair transforms the gardens into an open-air marketplace for two days. Browse an extensive lineup of artists and designers featuring original paintings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, and wearable art, along with handcrafted goods and unique finds. Live music, community exhibitors, food and drink for purchase, and a kids area with hands-on art activities round out this annual tradition. Dogs (on leash) are also welcomed.

LUMINOSA AT JUNGLE ISLAND

Miami’s most spectacular light festival at Jungle Island features larger-than-life illuminated lanterns crafted by Chinese artists. At Luminosa, guests journey through mystical landscapes from the Amazon rainforest to a frozen kingdom, brought to life with handcrafted silk lanterns, holograms, animatronics, and interactive storytelling. Adult tickets range from $30.78 on weekdays to $46.88 on weekends. Child tickets (ages 4-12) start at $21.58 and go up to $33.08.
