Island Fin Poké Co., known as America’s favorite poké restaurant, is embracing the Hawaiian value of Ohana and launching “Ohana Month” throughout November. Dedicated to family, community, and philanthropy, this initiative aims to foster a sense of togetherness and support among patrons while giving back to those in need.
The concept of Ohana holds deep significance in the Hawaiian culture and cuisine, reflecting the idea that family extends beyond blood ties. Island Fin Poké Co., with its strong connection to Hawaiian roots, strives to create an environment reminiscent of an Ohana – a close-knit family where individuals feel valued and cherished.
CEO and founder of Island Fin Poké Co., Mark Setterington, believes that Ohana is the cornerstone of the brand’s mission. “Ohana is absolutely everything to this brand,” he emphasized. “We wanted to dedicate a month out of the year to really giving back and emphasize the importance of family. Ohana Month is where our brand can showcase the importance of family and how we come together to bring support to anyone in need. It’s a true embodiment of our mission.”
A key component of Ohana Month is Island Fin Poké Co.’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community. As part of their recent partnership with Spartan Race, the restaurant will support the Maui Food Bank, which has been assisting those affected by the devastating wildfires on the island. Guests who donate $100 or more using the dedicated link to the Maui Food Bank will receive a complimentary ticket to the Spartan Race, combining the thrill of the event with a meaningful contribution.
Island Fin Poké Co. has shown a consistent dedication to giving back to communities. During the destructive fires in Lahaina, all Island Fin locations directly donated a percentage of their sales to the Maui Food Bank, providing direct relief to residents. In Worcester, MA, franchise owners raised money for CASA, while in The Villages, FL, they brought holiday cheer to local firefighters by delivering Dole Soft Serve® on Christmas Day. These actions exemplify the brand’s commitment to supporting its communities in various ways.
Setterington emphasizes the role of community involvement in this initiative, stating, “We believe in the strength of our communities to participate in this initiative. This initiative is more than just a token of appreciation to our guests; it’s an embodiment of our commitment to giving back and building a stronger, more connected community. It’s a way for us to reinforce our commitment to the values of Ohana that have always been at the core of Island Fin Poké Co.”
As Ohana Month unfolds, Island Fin Poké Co. invites all patrons to join in celebrating the values of family, community, and generosity. By enjoying delicious poké bowls and participating in philanthropic efforts, guests play an integral part in creating a stronger and more supportive society.
