Wolff to perform selections from highly praised new CD “Memoir”, recently released on Sunnyside Records.
Internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, bandleader, and author, Michael Wolff will perform live with his trio featuring bassist Ben Allison and drummer Allan Mednard, on Friday, Nov. 22nd, at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach, Florida, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Arts Garage is located at 94 NE 2ND AVE. Known for his virtuoso performances and innovative style, Wolff and his trio will perform selections from his first new CD in four years, “Memoir,” recently released on Sunnyside Records. Both Mednard and Allison play with Wolff on the new recording. Together, the group will also revisit and perform some of Wolff’s favorite original compositions and jazz standards. Best known in pop culture for his longtime role as the musical director and bandleader for Arsenio Hall’s award-winning TV talk show, Wolff has played with a Who’s Who of jazz legends and musical artists.
Among the many jazz giants Wolff has played with are Latin Jazz great Cal Tjader, Sonny Rollins, Christian McBride, Cannon Ball Adderley, Bill Evans, Nancy Wilson, (he was also her musical director,), Chick Corea, the Count Basie Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Sheila E., and more.
