The night came alive in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, March 31st for the first annual PULSE event to benefit the American Heart Association. This new division of the organization in Broward County brings young professionals together who are the next generation of community leaders fighting heart disease and stroke.
More than 300 people attended the inaugural PULSE event held at SHO Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale. Guests enjoyed the evening with the sounds from DJ P.J. Ware, food, a chance to win drawing with great prizes and fun entertainment. Michelle Goodman of EDIFY and Kari Meran of Carl Linder Group served as PULSE chairman and ONE BEAT CPR was the Signature sponsor. PULSE has already raised more than $40,000 which will tie into the upcoming Broward Heart Ball on Saturday, April 30th at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale.
This young group of professionals is leading the charge in raising funds for the Broward Heart Ball – Heart Society’s “Open Your Heart” initiative. This lifesaving initiative is designed to impact advance innovating medicine and research, provide hope for our children and adults by addressing means to improve heart health and allocation of research dollars as a catalyst for action and impact in combating cardiovascular disease. More Americans die of cardiovascular diseases than the next four causes of death combined.
The American Heart Association will celebrate the year-long Broward Heart Ball-Heart Society campaign, including the success of PULSE at the April 30 gala. Chairman of the 2011 Heart Ball-Heart Society is Steven Mariano, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Patriot National Insurance Group. Fred DeLuca, founder of Subway, is the 2011 Honoree.
