On October 26, Icelandair inaugurated its first scheduled flight from Miami International Airport to Reykjavik, marking a major expansion in its North American network. Operating three weekly flights on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until May 3, 2026, the route is serviced by the airline’s new Airbus A321LR, with a flight time under eight hours.
Miami now stands as Icelandair’s 19th gateway in North America and the only Florida airport offering nonstop flights to four Scandinavian countries this winter. Miami residents gain direct access to Iceland’s stunning landscapes and seamless connections to 38 European destinations through Reykjavik.
Icelandair CEO Bogi Nils Bogason emphasizes this route’s significance, highlighting Miami’s growing status as an international hub. Since its founding in 1937, Icelandair has been a vital link between Europe and North America, with a network of over 60 destinations worldwide.
