How to Actually Read Charts and Maps Like a Pro

Data visualization–the use of charts and maps to display numbers–is all around us. Learning to be a savvy data “consumer” is an art. The good news is that anyone and everyone can learn. In this next edition of LIVE@Frost Science on Wednesday, January 17, join us as Dr. Alberto Cairo, Knight Chair in Visual Journalism at the School of Communication of the University of Miami, presents How to Actually Read Charts and Maps Like a Pro.

During this free event, Dr. Cairo will walk you through how to hone your critical eye for data visualization and how to read commonly misused or misunderstood visualizations, like hurricane maps, properly.

Admission to LIVE@Frost Science is complimentary. Program will take place inside the Frost Planetarium. Refreshments and light snacks will be available for purchase prior to the event at Food@Science.
