Hip-Hop Hues Art Basel Week at The Stage Miami

unnamed-46World class hip-hop and art converge once again at The Stage Miami during Art Basel week. For the fourth year in a row, the midtown musical hotspot will be home to some blistering live musical entertainment from some of the most well-known names in the rap game.

On Thursday, December 4, The Stage will play host to Miami’s 2 Live Crew, the notoriously “as nasty as they want to be” act best known for having the first record to be found to be legally offensive. The group still features two original members BrotherMarquis and Mr. Mixx and actively performs throughout South Florida and beyond. They released a single called Take It Off in June of 2014 and the video was features cameos by Mannie Fresh, Flavor Flav, Trina, Flo Rida and Trick Daddy. The featured DJ is Bebe and doors open at 9 p.m.  Advance tickets are $20 atwww.wantickets.com/2livecrew or $25 at the door on the day of the show.

Friday, December 5, a Beats N Rhymes Friday, will see Brooklyn’s hip-hop storytellerSean Price from Boot Camp Clik / Duck Down Records perform live, with support from DJs Heron, Ynot and Johnny Walker Red. Price, once known as Ruck and one-half of the group Heltah Skeltah and who was also a part of Random Axe, is currently touring the U.S. in support of the 2014 full-length release Highway Robbery/Land of the Crooks. On Saturday, December 6, South Central L.A.’s Bizarre Ryde II – The Pharcydefeaturing original members Fatlip and Slimkid, in addition to J-Swift and L.A. Jay, take The Stage with the support of DJs Heron and Klassik. The crew continues to keep their brand of soulful, light-hearted hip-hop alive by performing occasionally in their home state of California.
