HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES CONCERT

October 24; 7PM

Miami Dade College Wolfson

Chapman Conference Center

245 NE 4 Street, Room 3210, Miami

General admission $10; Students & seniors $5

The High School Instrumental Ensembles Concert will feature the NWSA Camerata String Ensemble and High School Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Dr. Hyunjee Chung and the High School Wind Ensemble, directed by Brent Mounger. The program includes wonderful works by Felix Mendelssohn, Edvard Grieg, W.A. Mozart, Morton Gould, and many more. “Playing in an ensemble requires multitasking,” explained Chung. “The students have to interpret the composers’ instructions in their parts, listen to their own section and other sections, all while staying connected with the director. I hope that all our students develop sensitivity in their listening and learn how to create music together as a group through this performance. Having a performance opportunity like this one is important for all our students. They will not only get the chance to showcase the music they’ve learned but also learn how to perform in a large ensemble.”
