The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLiFF) returns for its 30th anniversary, November 6-22, 2015. During this 17-day cinematic celebration, which has become one of the most respected film forums in the industry, more than 150 films will be shown.
Special guests will include director Michael Moore, producer Robert Trujillo, actor Ed Harris (“The Right Stuff,” “The Truman Show”), actor Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”), actress Amy Madigan (“Twice in a Lifetime,” “Field of Dreams”), Florida-based director Victor Nunez (“Yulee’s Gold,” “A Flash of Green”), actress Candy Clark (“American Graffiti,” “The Man Who Fell to Earth”), actress Estelle Parsons (“Bonnie and Clyde,” “Rachel, Rachel”) and actress Loretta Swit (“M*A*S*H”, “Freebie and the Bean”).
To officially kick off the festival, three film screenings will take place on Friday, November 6th: “Where to Invade Next,” a new documentary from Academy Award-winning director Michael Moore will show at 7:00 pm at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock, with Moore as the special guest. This will be Moore’s fifth appearance at FLiFF. “The Boat Builder” will screen at Cinema Paradiso – Fort Lauderdale at 8:00 pm, with special guests director Arnold Grossman, producer Richard J. Bosner and star Christopher Lloyd. “Jaco” screens at 9:00 pm at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock, with special guests including director Paul Marchand, producer Robert Trujillo and members of the Jaco Pastoria’s family.
Other film festival highlights include the Friday, November 13th Centerpiece Film screening of “Silver Skies,” taking place at 7:15 pm at the Sunrise Civic Center with special guests including director Rosemary Rodriguez, producer Nestor Rodriguez and star Jack McGee. On Friday, November 22nd, the closing night film will screen at 6:00 pm at Cinema Paradiso – Fort Lauderdale and Cinema Paradiso – Hollywood featuring “The Wannabe,” with special guests including director Nick Sandow and producer Michael Gasparro.
On Saturday, November 21st at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FLiFF will host an awards gala where Nicki E. Grossman, president & CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be honored with a Visionary Award. Nicki oversees the convention, tourism and entertainment marketing efforts and has been the CVB’s president since 1995.
