If this performance reaches capacity, there will be a virtual standby line. A virtual standby pass is not a ticket and does not guarantee admission. If seating becomes available, virtual standby line guests will be notified by the box office within 48-72 hours of performance.

FREE FAMILY FEST is made possible with generous support from Baptist Health.

Inez Barlatier is a multifaceted performer of Ayisyen (Haitian) descent. In AYITI: Stories & Songs from Haiti, she celebrates Ayisyen (Haitian) art and culture through energetic drumming and singing, colorful costumes and traditional dances, folktales and visual art. The show also features songs and phrases in Kreyòl Ayisyen (Haitian Creole), English, Spanish, African and Taino dialects which explore themes of community and gratitude. Joined onstage by her family band of talented young artists, Inez leads children on a journey to a land rich with history that has often been overlooked, with a story that is an intrinsic part of the history of the Americas and the Caribbean.

This performance is recommended for ages 5-9.

AYITI: Stories & Songs from Haiti was recently presented to Miami-Dade County students as part of the Miami-Dade Arts Education Collective, a collaboration between the Arsht Center, Miami Theater Center, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ Culture Shock Miami program, and South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center to provide virtual, diverse and high-quality arts programming to K-12 students throughout the 2020-2021 school year. To date, nearly 80,000 students have participated in the program.
