June 27-29
Last November, Florida welcomed its newest sports team – the Florida Freedom. The Freedom are the state’s first-ever professional bull riding team, competing in the groundbreaking PBR Teams league which transforms the traditional individual sport of bull riding into a team-formatted competition.
After the Freedom competed during the league’s first two seasons in Oklahoma, they relocated in November 2023, now making their home at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
Not only are the Freedom the state’s only professional bull riding team, but they feature a rare dynamic in sports. The team is led by Head Coach Paulo Crimber, with one of the squad’s brightest stars being his son, John Crimber. Teenage phenom John Crimber is a generational talent, having just recently finished No. 2 in the World Championship race, and was selected by his father’s Florida Freedom with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 PBR Teams New Rider Draft. Now the Crimbers, along with the remaining talent-packed roster, will begin their quest to bring Florida its next sporting World Championship.
Before the team makes their debut in South Florida for Freedom Days on August 2-4, like any professional sports team, the Freedom will host and official practice and training camp from June 27-29 in nearby Hollywood.
After two days of training and team-bonding activities, the Freedom will welcome the local community to the Hollywood Rodeo Arena at 6pm on Saturday, June 29, for their official team scrimmage. All members of the team will be present including Head Coach Paulo Crimber, along with team members and riders John Crimber, Thiago Salgado, Caden Bunch, Casey Roberts, Conner Halverson and others.
