The Florida Freedom, a new addition to the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Teams league, are set to hold their inaugural Freedom Days from August 2-4 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. The team relocated to South Florida ahead of the 2024 season after two years in Oklahoma City.
Competing in a head-to-head format with ten teams, the Freedom engage in five-on-five bull riding games during the four-month season, with the top aggregate score determining the winner of each game. As the season progresses, each team’s win-loss-tie record will dictate their standings leading up to the Championship in Las Vegas, where the 2024 PBR Teams World Champion will be crowned in late October.
Under the mentorship of bull riding icon and 2024 Ring of Honor inductee Paulo Crimber, the team features an exciting dynamic: Crimber coaches his son, John, selected as the first overall pick in the PBR Teams New Rider Draft. At just 18 years old, John Crimber has already made a name for himself by finishing second in the 2024 PBR World Championship race this past May.
The Freedom’s roster also includes talented Brazilians such as Thiago Salgado, Elizmar Jeremias, and Alex Cerqueira, alongside World Finals qualifiers Caden Bunch, Casey Roberts, and Conner Halverson.
As the 2024 PBR Teams season kicked off last weekend, the Freedom finished with a 1-1 record, currently ranking fifth in the league. After suffering a loss to the undefeated Carolina Cowboys in their opener, the Freedom bounced back with an impressive 173.75-87.25 victory over the Nashville Stampede, bolstered by an essential 88-point ride from John Crimber. With their sights set on climbing the rankings, the Florida Freedom aim to bring home the World Championship to Sunrise.
