Florida Freedom Rides to 1-1 Record, Climbs to Fifth in PBR League

The Florida Freedom made their mark at the 2024 Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Camping World Team Series event in Oklahoma City, ending the weekend with a 1-1 record and securing the No. 5 spot in the league standings.

Under the guidance of new Head Coach Paulo Crimber, the Freedom faced the Carolina Cowboys in their inaugural game after a bye week. Despite a strong performance where four riders—Caden Bunch, Thiago Salgado, Elizmar Jeremias, and John Crimber—successfully completed their rides, they fell short, losing to the Cowboys by 104.25 points. The final score was 343.75 to 448, marking one of the highest-scoring games in PBR history with a combined 791.75 points across both teams. Notably, the Cowboys achieved just the third perfect game in PBR Teams history.

The highlight of the match came when the 2024 YETI World Champion Bull, Man Hater, scored an impressive 48.75 points by bucking off Casey Roberts. This score ties for the third-highest in PBR history and is the highest ever in the PBR Teams league.

Eager for redemption, the Freedom took to the arena again, this time facing the 2022 PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede. In a commanding performance, the Freedom secured their first win of the season, overpowering Nashville 173.75 to 87.25. Jeremias set the tone with an early score, and John Crimber, the top pick from the 2024 PBR Teams New Rider Draft, clinched victory with his 88-point ride on Stryker in the fifth round.

As the competition wrapped up, Jeremias showcased his skills once more, delivering an 88.25-point ride on Mike’s Motive during the Shootout Round to seal the Freedom’s victory.

Looking ahead, the Florida Freedom, now with a 1-1 record, will continue their season at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia, beginning July 26. They will face off against the Texas Rattlers during the opening night of competition.

Fans can anticipate the team’s inaugural homestand, PBR Freedom Days, on August 2-4, 2024, at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Three-day ticket packages are currently available online, with prices starting at $20.
