Last November, Florida welcomed its first professional bull riding team, the Florida Freedom, which competes in the innovative PBR Teams league. This league transforms traditional individual bull riding into a team format, adding a new dimension to the sport.
After competing in Oklahoma for their first two seasons, the Freedom relocated to Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, in November 2023. The team is not only unique as the state’s only professional bull riding squad but also showcases a distinctive family dynamic. Head Coach Paulo Crimber leads the team, which features his son, teenage prodigy John Crimber. Just finishing second in the World Championship race, John was selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 PBR Teams New Rider Draft, highlighting the family’s significant role in the team’s aspirations.
As the Freedom prepares for its debut during Freedom Days from August 2-4, the squad will hold an official practice and training camp from June 27-29 in Hollywood. Following two days of training and team-bonding activities, the Freedom invites the community to watch their official team scrimmage at Hollywood Rodeo Arena at 6 p.m. on June 29, featuring all team members including Head Coach Paulo Crimber and riders Thiago Salgado, Caden Bunch, Casey Roberts, and Conner Halverson. The Crimbers, alongside their talented roster, aim to secure Florida’s next sporting World Championship.
