The next Film Florida Friday is Friday September 16, 2022 at 9:30am ET featuring a discussion about “non-traditional production education” with a group of educators in the production industry. Traditional education gets a lot of attention in Florida, rightfully so, but there are also non-traditional avenues for individuals to get into the production industry, especially for those in underserved communities. We’ll talk to a few of those dedicated educators about what they do to help the next generation of filmmakers in Florida. Panelists: Dr. Devin Marsh from the After School Film Institute and the Arthur and Polly Mays Conservatory of the Arts along with Dr. Saliha Nelson, CEO of URGENT, Inc., a non-profit creative youth development organization dedicated to empowering young minds to transform their communities.
Registration is free but required. Film Florida Fridays are free interactive conversations (on Zoom) about current topics, initiatives and relationship-building in Florida‘s film, television, commercial, photography and digital media industry. These conversations take place one Friday each month at 9:30am EST on Zoom, where industry professionals and up-and-comers are encouraged to gather with a cup of coffee, ask questions and speak directory with industry leaders.
