Wednesday, October 11 – December 12
The eighth annual Screening the Holocaust Film Series, presented by the Miami Jewish Film Festival in collaboration with The Sue and Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies, the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, and the Holocaust Teacher Institute at the University of Miami, is proud to announce its return to an in-person, in-theater experience at O Cinema Miami Beach. The program will feature complimentary screenings alongside engaging discussions moderated by Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff, Education Director of the Holocaust Institute at the University of Miami.
The series kicks off on Wednesday, October 11, with a special presentation of the audience favorite Farewell Mister Haffman, which received critical acclaim during its premiere at the 2023 Miami Jewish Film Festival. This gripping wartime thriller explores questions of conscience and character as it unfolds the story of a French-Jewish jeweler caught in a Faustian pact that alters the destinies of those trapped in Nazi-occupied Paris.
The series will continue throughout the months of November and December, featuring more renowned films such as Finding Hannah, a heartfelt drama directed by Hollywood legend Sidney J. Furie, and Terezin, a powerful film that unfolds the tragic love story of two musicians imprisoned in the infamous Theresienstadt concentration camp. |
