Explore the Quantum Realm at LIVE@Frost Science Event

Join Dr. James K. Thompson, a renowned professor at JILA and the University of Colorado Boulder, for an enlightening evening on quantum mechanics at LIVE@Frost Science: Quantum Fuzziness and Quantum Certainty. The event, set for Wednesday, December 11, will delve into the intriguing concept of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle and how scientists worldwide are leveraging this quantum fuzziness—and its counterpart, quantum certainty—to enhance everyday technologies, from navigation systems to time measurement and the discovery of new particles.

Presented in partnership with Florida International University (FIU) and supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the program takes place inside the Frost Planetarium. Admission is free, and guests can enjoy refreshments and light snacks available for purchase at Food@Science prior to the program.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the program commencing promptly at 7:00 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. Note that while admission to the lecture is complimentary, it does not include access to museum exhibitions, which close at 6:00 p.m. Onsite parking is available for a flat rate of $8 starting at 6:00 p.m., although member discounts do not apply.
