E! News’ Melanie Bromley Shares Tips for Aspiring Red Carpet Reporter

The pros might make it look easy, but ruling the red carpet for several hours before an awards show or event is hard work. How do you keep all the celebrities straight? What are the best questions to ask? How do you get their attention when dozens of reporters are calling their name?

Allyson Berger, a budding entertainment reporter from New York City, had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get all these questions answered by a true expert in celebrity journalism: Melanie Bromley, Chief News Correspondent at E! News.

After launching a virtual talent competition on Twitter, Virgin Atlantic chose Allyson to be their red carpet reporter at this year’s GREAT British Film Reception, an evening honoring the British nominees of the 87th Academy Awards®.  But before heading to the event, her first stop was at the center of Hollywood news, the E! News studios.  And we recorded the whole thing to share with other aspiring red carpet reporters.
