Cymande are a legendary UK band blending funky, pan-Afro psychedelic soul-rock with calypso, reggae, and jazz. Their early-’70s albums became cult classics, later sampled by hip-hop icons including De La Soul, The Fugees, MC Solaar, Masta Ace, EPMD, and Gang Starr. Re-formed in recent years, Cymande now perform worldwide with new music that carries forward their spiritual, genre-blurring vision. Led by founding members Patrick Patterson and Steve Scipio, the band brings renewed fire to their iconic sound.
