Broward County is set to become the epicenter of American cricket this summer as Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC), the first professional Twenty20 league in the United States, brings its 2025 season to Broward County Stadium from July 1-6. Fans will have a unique opportunity to witness world-class cricket during a festive week that coincides with Independence Day celebrations.

A Global Sport Finds a Local Home

Following opening matches at the Oakland Coliseum (June 12-18) and Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium (June 20-29), the league’s third season will culminate with the playoffs and championship final in Grand Prairie from July 8-13. But the highlight for South Florida spectators is the six days of intense competition right in their backyard.

Cricket’s worldwide popularity is undeniable, with more than 2.5 billion fans globally, ranking as the second-most-watched sport behind only soccer (WorldAtlas, 2024). South Florida’s diverse population—including vibrant South Asian, Caribbean, South African, and British communities—makes Broward County a natural hub for cricket’s expansion in North America.
