On Monday, November 25, notable guests, community leaders, theatre supporters and MSNBC Host Chris Matthews gathered to celebrate City Theatre’s 2014 Season with a special fundraiser at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. in Miami.
City Theatre Founding Chairman of the Board and Stearns Weaver Miller Shareholder Alan Fein welcomed over 125 distinguished guests to the intimate business luncheon that featured Chris Matthews, anchor of MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” and the NBC-syndicated “The Chris Matthews Show”. A television commentator with remarkable depth and breadth of experience, Mr. Matthews shared his in-depth political analysis, fiery opinions and sharp humor about politics, the arts, and his new book, “Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked”.
Prior to Mr. Matthew’s presentation, City Theatre’s Assistant Artistic Director Mcley LaFrance treated guests to a special performance of Richard Dresser’s short play Halftime.

Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit City Theatre’s Summer Shorts Festival and CityWrights Playwriting Conference that will take place in June of 2014.
