CELEBRATING NWSA FOUNDING DEAN OF DANCE, DANIEL LEWIS, ON HIS BIRTHDAY

Dance NOW! Miami and New World School of the Arts will celebrate the 80th birthday of NWSA founding Dean of Dance, Daniel Lewis, with a performance and tributes by renowned choreographers, dancers, and NWSA alumni. Dance NOW! will perform “Open Book,” one of Lewis’ Seminal works from 1981 as well as work from their repertoire. Also on the bill, students from New World School of the Arts will perform a work by Martha Graham, and there will be a special performance by Masha Dashinka Maddux, former principal dancer of the Martha Graham Company and a graduate of NWSA high school and college programs.
