| Brushes With Cancer is a four- to six-month program developed and managed by Twist Out Cancer that matches visual artists with “Inspirations” (cancer patients/thrivers/survivors/previvors, caregivers) to create art reflective of their cancer journeys. Pairs connect in person and/or virtually, with their relationships supported by meetups, mentors and staff. The program finishes with a celebratory art exhibition at the Arsht for participants, families and the Miami community.
For visual artists and inspirations, much vulnerability and openness are required to tell stories and to actively listen.
