Broward County Launches First Self-Service Vehicle Registration Kiosk at Sedano’s, Expanding Countywide Access

Broward County’s Tax Collector has launched its first self-service vehicle registration and tag renewal kiosk at Sedano’s Supermarkets in Pembroke Pines, signaling a major step toward making essential services more accessible. Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening of this innovative, user-friendly kiosk, the first of its kind at a Sedano’s store, with plans to expand across the county.

The new kiosks allow residents to complete vehicle registrations and license plate renewals in under two minutes using secure, ADA-compliant touchscreens. They support multiple languages, accept electronic payments, and print on-site for instant service—eliminating the need for visits to a traditional Tax Collector office.

“This expansion shows our dedication to bringing services closer to residents where they live, work, and shop,” said Abbey Ajayi, Broward County Tax Collector. “We’re modernizing how we serve the community by providing convenient, efficient options for routine transactions.”

Sedano’s, viewed as a community hub, partners with the county to offer these services in neighborhoods, improving access and convenience. Pedro Mesa, Sedano’s Director of Community Affairs, emphasized the importance of community-centered initiatives, noting the value of bringing government services directly into local stores.

Pembroke Pines Mayor Angelo Castillo also praised the effort, highlighting the kiosk’s ease of access and the significance for local residents. Attendees watched a live demonstration of the kiosk’s quick and simple renewal process, marking a new chapter in public service delivery across Broward County.
