Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has elected Olga Guilarte as Chair of the Board of Directors for the upcoming 2010-2012 term. Guilarte has been dedicated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade for the past 15 years by volunteering her time and relentless energy to the organization.
“We are very excited and honored to have Olga Guilarte serve as Board Chair. She brings a wealth of knowledge that will be a tremendous help to the organization,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.
Guilarte was born in Cuba and moved to the United States in 1963. For many years, she served as the Vice President of the Key Biscayne Bank and Trust Company. She later became the Administrator of the Investments and Real Estate Holdings for the late Charles “Bebe” Rebozo. Today, she continues Mr. Rebozo’s legacy by serving as a Director of the Carmen Rebozo Foundation, a private charitable foundation named after Mr. Rebozo’s mother. Guilarte resides in Miami.
“During the past 20 years of working with a local nonprofit organization, I have been able to carry out my passion for helping children and families reach their full potential,” said Guilarte. “I am honored to be named Chair of the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and hope to continue in its efforts to inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most.”
