Lecture Series
 Content and Form – topics in art history from 1905-2009  
The eight-week lecture series concludes with high profile speakers including Eric C. Shiners, the Milton Fine Curator of Art at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburg and Victor Zamudio Taylor from Mexico City, curator of the current Jumex exhibition “Conceptual Art, Art and Language.” The series commences March 16, with a panel discussion highlighting a dialogue between generations moderated by Bass Museum of Art’s Director and Chief Curator, Silvia Cubiñá.

Cool Nights Hot Jazz
Two South Florida performers, Fernando Ulibarri and Rodolfo Zuniga are at the center of the Jazz scene for their efforts to evolve ‘Latin Jazz’ into a new, fresh and dynamic sound.  Both recorded artists will premiere new compositions from their soon to be released CDs.

Mika Tajima | New Exhibit
Connecting Modernist geometric abstraction to the shape of our built environment, artist Mika Tajima explores activities and performative roles defined by divisive spaces. Tajima’s The Double constructs a phantom performance space and workplace, referencing sources ranging from Herman Miller’s conflicted office furniture system from the late 1960s to the 1970 cult film
Performance.

Family Days
Last Sunday, Bass Museum of Art kicked off IDEA@thebass Family Days, a program developed by the museum with programming by Dr. von Lates in conjunction with Stanford University’s acclaimed Hasso Platner Institute of Design to promote original thinking and keep the arts alive in Miami-Dade public schools (Grades K-2).
