British Crown of India – The British Premier Disraeli acquired the title of Empress of India for Queen Victoria in 1875. However, the crown, with 6,170 diamonds, was only made in 1911 for the proclamation of King George V as Emperor of India in Delhi by the London jeweller, Garrard.
This March, Aventura Mall visitors can expect the royal treatment, when, for the first time in Miami, Robbe & Berking brings its “Crowns of the World” exhibit to the shopping center. More than 30 stunning crowns and head dresses will be available for viewing, including the British State Crown and originals like the Crown of the Maharadschas of Murschidabad. Many of the crowns will be displayed on magnificent tables decorated with Robbe & Berking cutlery and tableware. Robbe & Berking has provided royal families and embassies with the finest silverware products, adorning some of the world’s leading and most sophisticated tables. The event is sponsored by Aventura Mall and Lakeview Home Accessories, one of Robbe & Berking’s local vendors. “Crowns of the World” will be held March 4 through March 14 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
