Asere is a word with West African origins that many Cubans use to address a friend—it has been called the “most representative word in Cuban Spanish.” Experience the spirit of asere in this evening featuring the folk/country band Cortadito, rumba group Irawo Osa, poets Román Díaz and Adrian Castro, and expert insights from Wolfsonian research fellow Ivor Miller.
