Miami Fashion Week Turned 10. Here Is What Happened.
Six days. Seven runway shows. A Summit on AI and sustainability. A first-ever retail pop-up on Miracle Mile. And a Gala at Queen Miami Beach with a Latin Grammy winner on stage. The 10th anniversary edition of MIAFW delivered.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
Ten years in, Miami Fashion Week is no longer making the case for itself. The 10th anniversary edition ran October 13–18, 2026, moving through Freedom Tower, Mr. C Coconut Grove, Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, and — for the first time — Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. Seven runway presentations. A Summit with nine panels. A retail pop-up with more than 20 designers. And a Gala that opened the week with a Latin Grammy winner on stage.
The Week, Night by Night
It opened October 13 at the Freedom Tower with a press conference featuring Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Oliver Gilbert, MDC Vice President Maryam Laguna Borrego, Miami Fashion Institute Chairperson Oscar Lopez, Stitch Lab founder Karina Rosendo, and designer Yenny Bastida. That evening, the MIAFW Gala at Queen Miami Beach featured a runway presentation by Andrés Otálora and a live performance by Joaquina — Latin Grammy winner — with proceeds benefiting the Miami Fashion Institute at Miami Dade College.
October 14 brought Beatriz de la Cámara to Mr. C Miami Coconut Grove. October 15 saw Jenny Polanco take the same runway. October 16 moved to the Freedom Tower for Jacqueline Then, Giannina Azar, and Jhoan Sebastian Grey. October 17 featured Vero Diaz, Yenny Bastida, and Efrain Mogollón, also at the Freedom Tower. The week closed October 18 with Sitka Semsch on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables — the first time MIAFW has taken a runway to that address.
The Summit: Nine Panels on the Future of Fashion
The annual MIAFW Summit, held October 14 at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, brought together industry leaders, creatives, and innovators across nine panels covering sustainability, artificial intelligence, technology, and the future of fashion. First launched in 2017, the Summit continues to position MIAFW at the intersection of fashion and innovation. This year, MDC’s Miami Fashion Institute served as exclusive educational partner, giving students direct access to castings, fittings, production, and special events throughout the week.
The Pop-Up That Changed the Format
For the first time, MIAFW partnered with Stitch Lab for a curated retail pop-up at 350 Miracle Mile, October 16–18, presented and hosted by Terranova. More than 20 designers and brands from Latin America and beyond brought ready-to-wear, eveningwear, handbags, shoes, and jewelry directly to consumers — alongside buyers, stylists, content creators, and media. It was the first time the festival extended its reach beyond the runway in a transactional, consumer-facing format.
Celebrating 10 years of Miami Fashion Week is an incredibly meaningful milestone. This year is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and an exciting look at where fashion is going next.
Miami Dade College as Anchor Partner
This edition formalized a long-term partnership between MIAFW and Miami Dade College and its Miami Fashion Institute. The partnership gives students direct access to the full production of the festival — castings, fittings, runway, and special events. MDC’s Wolfson Campus has hosted the Summit for nine consecutive years. The relationship is now official and ongoing.
What’s Next: 2027 and the Virtual Fashion Awards
MIAFW is already looking ahead. Designers, brands, and industry professionals can register early for 2027 at introductory pricing — the best rates go to those who register first. The platform is also preparing for the second edition of the Virtual Fashion Awards (VFA), scheduled for May 2027, spotlighting the growing intersection of fashion, digital creativity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Miami Fashion Week is officially recognized by the CFDA’s Fashion Calendar alongside New York, London, Paris, and Milan. For 2027 registration and VFA information, visit miamifashionweek.com.
