On Wednesday, December 2 from 7pm to midnight, aAO (Against All Odds) — the forthcoming Buena Vista restaurant from celebrity chef Robyn Almodovar — hosts NUA-ARTE: Contemporary African Art Exhibition. Founded and curated by internationally acclaimed DJ, singer, and artist Anané Vega, NUA-ARTE is a curatorial platform dedicated to discovering and amplifying underrepresented African artists. The exhibition, titled 'Illuminating Unseen Voices,' features contemporary paintings exploring identity, cultural heritage, imagination, and everyday life — works spanning acrylic and dyed Angolan sand on canvas, born from Vega's journey to Angola where she discovered and acquired 20 original artworks. Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Louie Vega will join the evening. Guests will be welcomed with a cocktail and passed hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Almodovar, known for her wins on Hell's Kitchen, Chopped, and Cutthroat Kitchen. RSVP required. aAO is at 4204 NW Second Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.
Miami contemporary artist Alex Yost unveils his newest collection, 'West of Everything,' on Thursday, December 3 from 11am to 8pm at 301 NW 28th Street in Wynwood — free and open to the public. Celebrating 15 years as a professional artist, Yost — a former professional golfer turned painter and muralist whose collectors include Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Chris Brown — introduces a deeply personal collection inspired by reinvention, resilience, and the freedom to forge one's own path. Blending fine art with the raw energy of street culture, 'West of Everything' reimagines the American West through faceless cowboys, outlaws, and rugged landscapes, using bold textures, graffiti elements, and contemporary Western symbolism to explore identity, independence, and the courage to start over. Visitors can meet the artist and enter a raffle for a chance to win one of his exclusive digital prints.
On Thursday, December 3 from 6 to 8pm, Sexy Fish Miami celebrates the Miami Art Week debut of internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Sara Shakeel with the unveiling of The Crystal Zen Garden, Beneath the Sea. Known for transforming everyday objects and imagery into glittering, crystal-encrusted works of art, the Pakistani-born artist brings her signature aesthetic to Sexy Fish's underwater-inspired interiors with an installation that reimagines a traditional Japanese Zen garden beneath the ocean's surface — centered on a crystallized bonsai tree that reinterprets the centuries-old Japanese art form. Guests can meet the artist, explore the installation, and enjoy a specialty cocktail created exclusively for the collaboration. Tickets are $65 per person via SevenRooms, including two cocktails, tax, service charge, and standing-room access at the bar. Sexy Fish Miami is at 1001 S. Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33130.

The evening also features an audiovisual installation by Ricardo Zulueta projected onto The Betsy Orb as part of the City of Miami Beach's No Vacancy public art initiative.
