International award-winning green architect Chad Oppenheim opened his Miami home, Villa Allegra, to a select group of journalists — including Vogue Latin America and Premier Guide Miami — during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Premier Guide Miami sat down to find out what that means — and what comes next.

From cutting-edge developments in Miami to major international green initiatives, Chad Oppenheim has played an important role in the world of architecture and philanthropy. The international award-winning green architect and Miami resident opened his home — Villa Allegra — for a laid-back breakfast during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, welcoming a group of journalists and guests that included Vogue Latin America and Premier Guide Miami.

Chad had recently returned from a world tour visiting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He discussed future projects, his philanthropic involvement in green design, and the green lifestyle philosophy that runs through everything he builds.

Oppenheim Architecture + Design is known for projects that respond to their natural environment — buildings that breathe with the landscape rather than imposing upon it. His work spans luxury residences, cultural institutions, and large-scale urban developments across multiple continents, consistently earning recognition for both aesthetic ambition and environmental responsibility.

Love Miami

Love Miami covers the city's conversations — the interviews, the creative voices, the tastemakers and innovators who define South Florida's cultural identity. This is the pillar where Miami speaks for itself.

Villa Allegra itself is a testament to that philosophy: a home designed to dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, where natural light, cross-ventilation, and organic materials do the work that mechanical systems would otherwise require. Hosting journalists there during Swim Week was a deliberate choice — an invitation to experience green living firsthand rather than simply hear about it.

Premier Guide Miami's Daedrian McNaughton was among the guests at the breakfast, where Oppenheim spoke candidly about the global state of sustainable architecture, the projects he is most excited about, and why green design is not a trend but a fundamental responsibility for anyone who shapes the built environment.
