ANNUAL MEETING AND AWARDS CEREMONY

mimo-logoThe MiMo Biscayne Association will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, January 25th with a breakfast banquet at Soyka’s Restaurant at The 55th Street Station on Biscayne Boulevard at 8AM.  The Association will be celebrating its 3rd birthday with a presentation of the MiMo Association success story and ringing in the New Year by electing a new board of directors for 2010.    
 
In addition, for the first time, the Association will present Achievement Awards to community leaders, neighborhood associations and property owners who have refurbished their MiMo buildings.  The following people will be at the breakfast to receive their awards:
 
MIAMI-DADE MAYOR, CARLOS ALVAREZ will receive the MIMO BOULEVARD AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for his interest, support and dedication to the MiMo District and the MiMo Association.  We are proud to present this award to the Mayor who was a former resident of the neighborhood. 
 
MIAMI-DADE COMMISSIONER, AUDREY EDMONSON FOR HER LOYAL SUPPORT OF THE MIMO BISCAYNE ASSOCIATION
 
MIAMI COMMISSIONER MARC SARNOFF FOR MAKING THE MIMO BIC BECOME A REALITY
 
Community Awards will go to:

The KMP Furniture Building AT 6444 Biscayne

The Hider Family for the restoration of Penn Hall and the Sunshine Motel at 73rd & Biscayne

Andiamo for a creative reuse of a MiMo Structure

Mark Soyka for creating the 55th Street Station and making the neighborhood come alive

Karma Carwash for an inspirational carwash design  7010 Biscayne

Todd Leoni for contributing office space to the MiMo Association
 
Neighborhood Awards will go to:

The Belle Meade Homeowners Association for continued support of the MiMo District

The Upper Eastside Preservation Coalition for early-on and continuing support of the MiMo Association
 
The breakfast meeting at SOYKA’S begins at 8AM.
$25per person – deadline for RSVP’s (checks) is January 19th.
