Knight Concert Hall. Ever since his multi-platinum, chart-topping debut in 2006, NE-YO has wowed audiences around the globe with his velvety voice and superbly crafted songs.  He is a critically-acclaimed singer, songwriter, and up-and-coming actor, but mostly NE-YO has made his mark as the R&B king – unsurpassed in smoothness and soul.

“We are thrilled to bring this stellar ambassador of urban music to the Knight Concert Hall” said M. John Richard, President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. “NE-YO is a vocalist and songwriter whose universal sound touches the soul and lifts the spirit.”

NE-YO’s track record speaks volumes to his multi-faceted talent as a vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer.  He has had five top-ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist, and two number-one albums on the Billboard 200.  In February 2009, NE-YO won two Grammy Awards: Best Male R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song for his latest chart-topping single “Miss Independent,” which is now an anthem for young women everywhere.

NE-YO initially rose to stardom in 2004, penning Mario’s hit song “Let Me Love You,” which won two Billboard Awards, and was the eighth most successful single of the decade according to the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade.  Since then NE-YO has written award-winning songs for superstar artists including Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and Celine Dion.  In 2006, he released his own debut album, In My Own Words, featuring the smash single “So Sick” which flew straight to number one on the Billboard 200. His sophomore album, Because of You (2007), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and his most recent album, Year of the Gentleman (2008), sold 250,000 copies in its first week in the United States.  NE-YO is renowned for his peerless writing prowess, including the chart topping, record-breaking Grammy-nominated song “Irreplaceable” for Beyoncé, plus his own blockbuster singles “Closer,” “Sexy Love,” and “Because of You.”

NE-YO is both nationally and internationally beloved.  He was an invited performer for “Christmas at The White House” and in September 2009 released a limited edition greatest hits album, Ne-Yo: The Collection in Japan due to popular demand.  His recent tours have taken him as far as Malaysia, The Philippines, and Australia.  NE-YO also has a budding acting career.  He appeared in films Stomp the Yard, Save the Last Dance, and has a starring role in the upcoming Columbia pictures release Battle: Los Angeles, due in theaters in 2011.  NE-YO also contributed to The Princess and Frog, the latest Disney animated comedy.
