Acclaimed singer-songwriter Gregory Porter brings his unforgettable voice and soulful presence to the Arsht’s 20th Anniversary Gala. Raised in Bakersfield, California, Porter draws on the Southern gospel sound of his youth and the timeless influence of Nat King Cole. His breakout Blue Note debut, Liquid Spirit, earned him a Grammy Award and sold over a million albums. Its followup, Take Me to the Alley, earned Porter his second Grammy. Known for his rich blend of jazz, gospel and heartfelt storytelling, Porter has become one of the defining jazz vocalists of his generation.
