Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami will officially kick-off the week of fashion shows and parties with an honored guest, The Nechung State Oracle of Tibet, Kuten La. This is his second visit to the United States and Funkshion is proud to sponsor His Excellency for all to meet and enjoy this special evening at the Setai.
Please join as EVERY GUEST will be presented with a personal blessing and a Kurta -a ribbon like scarf placed around your neck by the Kuten La. It is used to signify greetings and blessings. Of course, to receive a Kurta from the Kuten La makes it even more special and brings good luck and special
blessings to its owner.
The Nechung Kuten La is a Buddhist monk known as the State Oracle of Tibet and the Deputy MInister of The Government of Tibet in Exile. During special events he is called upon by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, to go into a trance, and therefore guides the Tibetan People as well as protecting them. At this time he becomes an Oracle and answers questions about pressing matters that affect the Tibetan people. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive a Kurta Blessing.
Also that night, in correlation with The Oracle, the premier of a newly developed Tibetan clothing line “Norbulingka With Love” will debut with a fashion runway show of luxurious and rare Yak Wool Shawls never seen in the United States. These unique pieces are made in the high Himalayas by hand, gathered from the 2 year old yak, cleaned and spun, and using natural vegetable dyes are woven into magnificently soft shawls that have the durability of camel but the softness of cashmere. Along with these amazing pieces will be accessories that are hand stitched so tight you will not believe they are not made by machine. Incredible evening wear, one size fits all, are made from antique and new saris that will light up the runway with their sparkle and shine. Meanwhile, the extremely hot mens fashions knock you into another atmosphere with their high fashion look that takes casual and sophistication through to bling.
Along with this stunning eye candy and spiritual insight, a special performance by “Here II Here”, who have rocked crowds with their natural beats and strong message to the world will send you spiraling into bliss.
