Beeple Stuns Art Basel Miami with Animatronic “Regular Animals” NFTs and Billionaire Cameos

At Art Basel Miami Beach, artist Beeple unveiled “Regular Animals,” a jaw-dropping spectacle featuring animatronic robot dogs modeled after Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Picasso, and Warhol, crafted by mask-maker Landon Meier. The robotic canines squat and snap photos, temporarily “pooping” out NFTs—some worth over $100,000.

Displayed during the VIP preview, the piece comments on how power players like Zuckerberg and Musk shape our perception of reality through algorithms—an idée reinforced by Beeple’s playful yet provocative work. The dogs are already sold to private collectors but will “eliminate” 1,028 NFTs labeled “Excrement Sample,” with some available for digital claim.

The installation generated buzz among attendees, including industry titans like Sergey Brin, who roamed the fair, alongside Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon and Miami’s elite. Beeple’s spectacle underscores the influence of wealthy tech giants and the future of art—blending chaos, technology, and NFT innovation.
