On Monday, November 3rd, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world’s largest non-profit public health organization, will depart Miami International Airport with a relief flight heading to Jamaica to aid hurricane-affected communities.
Cargo will be loaded at 8:00 a.m. EST at First Class Companies Warehouse in Sunrise, Florida, containing critical medical supplies such as tents, tarps, ready-to-eat food kits, wheelchairs, and water purification tablets. The supplies, identified as urgently needed by healthcare centers and hospitals, will be transported to Jamaica to support ongoing recovery efforts.
Following arrival, smaller planes will deliver the supplies into harder-hit areas. This deployment responds to directives from AHF’s medical team in Jamaica and underscores their commitment to providing immediate medical aid and supporting long-term recovery.
Dr. Kevin Harvey, AHF Deputy Bureau Chief for Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasized the organization’s history of proactive disaster response, citing previous efforts in Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas.
