Lights! Camera! Action! The FLOW Project
The dream of being on set is now a reality for South Florida youth through The FLOW Project. FLOW Films has partnered with local educators, Future Leaders Of the World, who work with incarcerated youth, at-risk youth, and youth in foster care. After teaching a health curriculum on important topics such as HIV, suicide prevention and substance abuse awareness, the students are then taught story structure, character development and script writing. These raw stories are developed with story producers and critiqued by trained peers on a Youth Advisory Board. The highest rated script is transformed into a professional film with bi-lingual actors (Spanish/English & Kreyol/English).
During post production, the education board develops a new curriculum based on the film. They also use local, up-and-coming musicians to score an original song for each film. CLICK HERE to view past films (currently in Spanish & English- their first Creole movie is set to be shot in October 2025) via the FLOW YouTube channel.
The FLOW Project is currently funded with a grant from Westcare and is often helped by the community at large.
