Barbara Bush Foundation Celebrates Literacy with Upcoming Event in Coral Gables

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy is set to host the Florida Celebration of Reading on Thursday, February 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Loews Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. This highly anticipated event will feature renowned authors Coco Mellors and Jessica Soffer, both of whom are New York Times bestsellers and contributors to Jenna Bush Hager’s popular Book Club, “Read with Jenna.”

Attendees can look forward to insightful remarks by prominent figures Jeb Bush Sr. and Jeb Bush Jr., who will share their thoughts on the crucial role of literacy in building stronger families and communities. The evening promises to be a celebration not just of literature, but also of the vital importance of reading in transforming lives.

In addition to the celebration, the foundation will launch new family literacy programming throughout 2025 in honor of its Centennial. The first of these initiatives is set to debut in Miami on February 27 at the Coral Gables Branch Library, marking a significant step forward in the foundation’s mission to promote literacy across generations.

This event is part of the broader Barbara Bush Centennial, a yearlong celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the foundation’s founder. As the foundation continues its work to uplift families through literacy, it invites everyone to join in this momentous occasion, celebrating the power of reading to change lives and strengthen families.

Join us under the bright lights of Coral Gables for an evening dedicated to inspiring words, impactful discussions, and a shared commitment to fostering literacy for all.
