He walked the Camino not knowing why… or how it would change his life forever.
From writer and director Bill Bennett, The Way, My Way is the charming and captivating true story of a stubborn and amusingly self-centered Australian man who decides to walk the 800 kilometer-long Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route through Spain. He doesn’t know why he’s doing it, but one step at a time it will change him and his outlook on life forever.
Based on Bill Bennett’s best selling memoir of the same name, The Way, My Way has been described by Camino elder statesman Johnnie Walker as the most authentic film ever made about the Camino.
Told from the perspective of a five-time pilgrim, The Way, My Way is an authentic and personal feature film and beautifully captures the spirit of adventure, self-reflection and what is truly important in life.
This special event will feature Bill Bennett, the writer, director, and producer of The Way, My Way, along with Jennifer Cluff, the producer and actress of the film. Both filmmakers will participate in a Q&A after the screening.
“The most authentic representation of the experience of the Camino to Santiago to date. You will laugh, cry, identify and above all you will be inspired by this film. It truly presents the transformational nature of the Camino experience.” —Johnnie Walker Santiago (Camino elder statesman)
“This is a quiet, gentle, uplifting film about freeing oneself from the every day and discovering the comfort of strangers.” —Stephen Romei, The Australian
