Dr Etti’s best cooking class Ever!

Dr. Etti & Ellie Ben-Zion: Mommy & Me and Daddy & Me Cooking Class
Class date: March 6, 10am-12pm
Location: 5700 Collins Ave, PHA
Price: $59.00 for two (parent & child)

Have you tried to find different ways to keep your little ones occupied or some fun things to do with them but all failed? I have! My four children constantly challenge me for engaging them for more than five minutes. Not to mention we parents are just simply not “cool” enough to hang out with them…until one day, my 11-year-old daughter Ellie walked in to my kitchen while I was experimenting my new creation of cup cakes.  I was singing along with music in the background and dancing with my hands full of coconut cream. Lying around the counter top was an army of my cool cooking gadgets and colorful ingredients.  “Mom!  Are you cooking or having FUN?” Busted, I confessed to Ellie, “Both!” Ellie grabbed my apron and joined me to whip the icing of the cup cake. We giggled, sang, made fun of each other’s silly mistakes and flour in the faces; before we realized, one hour and half flew by. Not only had we made the best cupcakes ever together, we bonded and had so much fun together.  Since then, we have spent a lot more time together, creating and cooking different yummy stuff and sharing with the family. The beautiful thing was I didn’t even have to chain her down! lol

Besides having fun and bonding with them, I’ve also learned that cooking with  your kids does a lot of great things – such as:

  • Teaches them healthy eating habits
  • Kids will be more likely to eat what they make (and is a great way to end a six-day-hot-dog-eating streak)
  • Kids learn lessons in measurements & math
  • Helps build confidence and learn the concept of team work
  • Kids get a sense of pride and accomplishment through participating a project

Inspired by the great and fun experiences Ellie and I had in the kitchen, I have put together this special cooking class for a parent and child as young as 4 years old. Buddy up with your kid and join us in my kitchen. One ticket covers both you and your child. Each student will have recipe cards and a gift package (can be chosen by Dr. Etti and Ellie Ben-Zion, i.e. wooden spoon and whisk set). Register now and let the FUN begin!!!

Challah is a traditional type of bread eaten on the Sabbath and Jewish holidays. It’s usually baked with white flour and sugar. Many of you have asked about my special challah baked with SPELT flour mixing with Superfoods ingredients.

I have been baking SPELT challah and tweaking the recipe for years.  It’s naturally sweet, rich in nutrients and fiber, delicious, gluten free, and guilt free. I am offering a FREE challah baking class to share with you my recipe and a healthier way to make challah. All you need to do is bring a healthy appetite and the ingredients the recipe calls for:

  • 1 bag of spelt flower
  • 1 bottle of agave (9oz)
  • 1 bottle of coconut oil (9oz)
  • 4 bags of dry yeast
  • 1 bag of hemp seeds
  • 1 bag of goji berries
  • 1 bag of dried cranberries
  • Optional: 1 bag of organic dark chocolate chips

And don’t forget the most important ingredients of all: Love. That’s what makes my challah and the process of making it so special.  Come get your hands dirty and share the love.

Spread the love!
