Michel Franco directed MEMORY starring Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard

Ketchup Entertainment has recently acquired the North American rights to Michel Franco’s critically-ac and award-winning film, “MEMORY.” Starring Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain and Volpi Cup winner Peter Sarsgaard, the film premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival and received an eight-minute standing ovation. It also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival to great acclaim. The film, set to release in December, follows Sylvia (Chastain), a social worker whose life takes an unexpected turn when Saul (Sarsgaard) follows her home from their high school reunion. This surprise encounter leads them on a journey of memories, challenges, and revelations.

Ketchup Entertainment’s CEO Gareth West expressed excitement about bringing this emotionally impactful film, with outstanding performances, to audiences in the United States. Director Michel Franco also shared his passion for the project and the collaborative effort behind it. The film is produced by Teorema in collaboration with High Frequency Entertainment, Screen Capital/Screen One, Mubi, and Case Study Films.

Notable producers include Michel Franco, Eréndira Núñez Larios, Alex Orlovsky, and Duncan Montgomery. The executive production team consists of Moisés Chiver, Paula Perez Manzanedo, Jack Selby, Joyce Zylberberg, Tatiana Emden, Ralph Haiek, Patricio Rabuffetti, Jason Ropell, Efe Cakarel, and Michael Weber.

The distribution deal was negotiated by Bart Walker and Jay Cohen at Gersh, with Gareth West representing Ketchup Entertainment.

Teorema, formerly known as Lucia Films, is the production company of director Michel Franco and producer Eréndira Núñez Larios. Chile-based Screen Capital, managed by Joyce Zylberberg and Tatiana Emden, has also collaborated on the film as a production partner. Mubi, High Frequency Entertainment, and Case Study Films are also involved in the project.

In addition to “MEMORY,” High Frequency Entertainment has been involved in other notable films such as Azazel Jacobs’ “His Three Daughters” and Charlie McDowell’s upcoming “The Summer Book” starring Glenn Close.
