Friday, October 20, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at MDC’s Padrón Campus for a very special evening.
Guests will be treated to a reception featuring music, light bites and beverages, and the opportunity to explore MOAD’s exhibition Remaking Miami: Josefina Tarafa’s Photographs from the 1970s prior to a lecture titled “The History of Little Havana” by author and historian Dr. Paul George.
For over three decades, Dr. George has served as a preeminent expert on Miami and its history, guiding tours and leading talks full of fascinating information.
“The History of Little Havana” will focus on Miami’s large Cuban community and the contributions it has made towards the neighborhood known as Calle Ocho. Featuring a Cuban walk of fame, a cigar factory, a domino park, and more, the story of how this enchanting neighborhood came to be is one that’s not to be missed!
Seating for the lecture will begin at 5:45 PM and is available on a first come, first served basis.
