The Design Center of the Americas is inviting members of the design community and industry insiders to a day of instructive events as part ofSummer Fusion taking place on the Dania Beach campus on Wednesday, August 9beginning at 10 am. Please read below for the current agenda of fascinating and informative presentations and showroom exhibits.

Keynote:
Latin American Design Perspectives
A panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Pfaff Smith from Lux Interior + Design and featuring:
+ Jay Britto, a founding principal of the award-wining interior design firm Britto-Charrette. Born and raised in Peru, he has spent more than a decade creating high-end residential interiors In South Florida, New York, Montreal and Central and South America.
+ Federico Teran,Award winner International Designer, Principal, and Owner of Fede Design USA, LLC, in Miami and Mexico. He has designed significant High-End, residential, commercial, and hospitality projects worldwide, including the USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Germany, and Dubai—his motto is The Essence of Luxury Interior Design.
+ Fernan Hernandez, the chief creative officer at Miami’s Morada Haute Furniture Boutique, is a graduate from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (Caracas) who was named “Furniture Designer of the Year” for the originality and sensitivity of his designs.

Future of Luxury Outdoor Living
Special presentation by Fernando Wong, who has been hailed as a “landscape legend” by Forbes, “one of the most important landscape designers in America” by Architectural Digest, and “a genius with the soul of a poet” by Elle Décor, is the vision and energy behind Fernando Wong Outdoor Living Design, with locations in Miami, Palm Beach, The Hamptons, New Orleans and London. Born and educated in Panama, he also was featured in TV shows with Martha Stewart on HGTV and Discovery Plus.

Italian Heritage
Latin Cooking & Italian Wine
Showcasing photographic history of Italian Immigrants to Latin America, including a Latin food and Italian wine paring. Consider this a soft opening of their new showroom.

Special presentation by the owners/principals of 2id Interiors Design in Miami: Laila Colvin, who has created elegant and refined interiors for hotels in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and the United States; and Rafael Simoes, a versatile and talented expert in in full-service interior design.

Sharing the Vision
Special presentation by Colombia-born interior designer Fanny Haim, ASID, IDG, whose eponymous firm is based in Miami and is based on “the principles of creativity, innovation, and timelessness.”
