Visitors of all ages are invited to jump in and take a spin through February 28
WHAT: Only two more weeks remain to experience Los Trompos, the vibrant, world-renowned outdoor art exhibition created by Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena, at Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables. The pop-up exhibit runs through February 28.
“Los Trompos,” which means “spinning tops” in Spanish, is a traveling exhibit that has been displayed in cities around the world, including Mexico City, Paris, and New York.
Unique modules topped by colorful surfaces of stretched fabric woven in a traditional Mexican style, invite guests of all ages to jump in and take a spin. Functioning as both artwork and a rotating platform, each larger-than-life, three-dimensional colorful sculpture acts as an engaging gathering place for relaxation, social interaction and entertainment.The art draws its inspiration from a toy that has been popular with children around the world since the dawn of time.
