Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in Fort Lauderdale (800 E. Las Olas Blvd) will wrap up its monthlong 1st Anniversary Celebration during the Memorial holiday weekend with a Cuban style Pig Roast in a traditional Caja China on Sunday, May 29. Guests are in for a smokey feast, as Chef-Partner Guillermo Pernot together with Executive Chef Angel Roque (from Cuba Libre’s Orlando location) join Executive Chef Anibal Suarez for this festive holiday cookout.
Cuba Libre’s chef trio will be cooking simultaneously two, 48-hour, mojo-marinated whole pigs in coal-fired Caja China roasting boxes. Throughout the day, onlookers will experience this streetside pig roast extravaganza in front of the restaurant, right on Las Olas Blvd. The traditional Cuban dinner will be served on a colorful pig-shaped terracotta tabletop charcoal grills beginning at 4 p.m., accompanied by steamed yuca with onion, garlic and chicharrones mojo, white rice, and black beans for $29.75 per person (minimum two people).
Another highlight from the “brunchtastic” menu for the holiday weekend is the “All You Can Eat” Paella which will be available for $29.75 per person, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Saturday and Sunday brunch along with more social dining options such as bottomless cocktail pitchers.
