Celebrate Miami Swim Week at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach with Swim Souk, an outdoor shopping extravaganza from July 12th – 14th. Guests will be able to shop some of The Standard’s favorite brands in The Gardens, each day from 11am – 7pm. The pop-up shop will highlight a selection of clothing, swimwear, and accessories from dbrie, KATAMA, PARED EYEWEAR, Rare Atlantic, and Philip Huang, idyllic for guest’s summer wardrobes.
Swim Souk will feature designs by dbrie, a swimwear brand intended to get wet. dbrie suits begin where fit, textures and versatility meet. Designed in Miami, Florida, the styles of dbrie suits have been created for women of all body types. Its multifaceted and flattering swimsuit styles range from Brazilian-cut bikinis in lively prints, to 80s-style one-pieces that fit and enhance the feminine form.
KATAMA, the designer swimwear and resort wear for discerning men, will be available at Swim Souk. Founded by Garrett Neff, KATAMA was inspired by his long days of water, sun and family at Katama Bay, off the coast of Massachusetts. For his designs, Neff took style notes from the preppy athleticism of his father, the tailored sharpness of his world-traveling grandfather, and the military functionality of his uncle. This eclectic mix, paired with his own modern styling and attention to detail, forms the backbone of theKATAMA brand.
PARED EYEWEAR, will also be available at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach’s Swim Souk this year. The Sydney-based eyewear brand features a collection of handmade sunglasses grounded in the fundamentals of clean lines, smooth shapes and lasting comfort. The brand was created in 2011, by co-founders, as well as husband and wife duo, Samantha Evans and Edward Baker. Each PARED style balances a sense of old and new, masculine and feminine, classic and modern, with each product being named after a famous pair: Bread & Butter, Puss & Boots, Romeo & Juliet.
Another addition to Swim Souk this year is Rare Atlantic, a destination brand of designed pieces for the traveling soul. Founded in 2015, Rare Atlantic‘s wares comprise unique keepsakes, accessories, small-batch fashion, and objects for the home, rooted in Miami and finding footholds of design culture from Morocco and Bali, Indonesia. The cornerstone of Rare Atlantic‘s brand ethos is wanderlust, joie de vivre, and the celebration of all things rare. Offerings throughout Swim Souk will include handwoven handbags from Bali, handmade “babouche” shoes from Morocco, in addition to Moroccan –made home décor.
The final designer to be featured at Swim Souk will be Philip Huang. Huang founded his eponymous label in 2016, after more than a decade working in the fashion industry as a model. Huang’s desire to collaborate with artisans and makers to create garments that would form long-lasting essentials to any wardrobe would eventually manifest itself into his namesake label, which features transitional pieces that are meticulously constructed, fusing age-old traditions of the artisans of Thailand with contemporary design methods and materials.
