Market Mondays at the Arsht Center

market mondaysThe Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Books & Books and The Market Company join forces to bring MARKET MONDAYS, a weekly event featuring Florida-grown produce and prepared foods; chef cooking demonstrations; fine arts and new world crafts; storytime for kids; live music; and Chef Allen’s coveted Farm-to-Table Dinner. Beginning now, MARKET MONDAYS will take place on the Arsht Center’s Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts from 4 – 8:30 p.m. Free parking will be available in Lot C, located just south of the Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House between Northeast 12th and 13th streets.

Each week, MARKET MONDAYS will feature:

 

  • The Farmers Marketplace: Market-goers can stock up on Florida-grown produce and prepared foods from a variety of stands overflowing with local harvest, including seasonal fruits, vegetables, meats, prepared food and beverages.

 

  • Arts Bazaar: Featuring a combination of old world fine art and new world crafts, the Arts Bazaar is the perfect place to find local and international flair ranging from paintings by Miami Beach Artist Sid Daniels to woven, natural fiber clothing and jewelry from Guatemala and much more. Vendors will vary each week.

 

  • FREE Kid’s Storytime from 6 – 6:30 p.m.Children of all ages and their family members are invited for storytime led by The Café at Books & Books.

  • Chef Allen’s Farm-to-Table Dinner at 6:30 p.m.: Join Chef Allen Susser, the culinary force behind The Café at Books & Books, at his Farm-to-Table Dinner featuring a different theme or region every Monday evening. The highly-creative vegetarian menu is inspired by the ingredients sold at the Farmers Marketplace and is served family-style at a shared communal table under the stars with live music. Cost is $25 per person with $14 optional wine pairing. Reservations are encouraged since space is limited. To make a reservation, call 786.405.1745.

  • FREE Cooking Demonstrations at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.Corporate and private chef, Paulette Bilsky, will be hosting free culinary demonstrations using the market’s locally sourced ingredients. Each week, Chef Paulette will feature nutritious and delicious recipes focusing on the many dietary choices made when living in an international community. Participants can enjoy a flavorful bite-size sample after each demonstration.
